Plantation Key is the first island of those located in the Villages of Islamorada, an Incorporated area of Monroe County. Here you can find the Upper Keys High School, Coral Shores, as well as Plantation Key School. Don’t miss the annual Halloween and Christmas celebrations in the local neighborhoods of Plantation Key Colony and Indian Mounds. Founder’s Park, 40 acres of land, includes various ball fields, a beachy swimming area, pool, boat ramp and trailer parking, amphitheater and the site of many festivals and entertainment. Windley Key is located within the Village of Islamorada beginning at mile marker 85.5 on the South side of Snake Creek Bridge and ending at mile marker 84 at Whale Harbor Channel. Windley Key is home to Theater of the Sea, Windley Key Fossil Reef Geological State Park and several landmark establishments such as Postcard Inn (Formerly known as Holiday Isle), Gary Dunn's Oceanview "The OV" Restaurant and bar, The Island Grill and Hog Heaven. Upper Matecumbe Key might be the most synonymous to Islamorada's visitors with the Islamorada Village Center being here. On Upper Matecumbe Key you'll find the Arts District on Industrial Way and the Old Highway. Home to some of our community's world renowned artists and establishments. Stop by the Florida Keys Brewery for a local brew and tour the Art Gallery by Pasta Pantaleo, The Blue Marlin Jewelry Store and many more. Every Third Thursday of the month all the stores and galleries open up for a festive time known as "The Art Walk". Many will end up at The Whistle Stop for "Whistle Pizza" or Hog Heaven for some fun tunes. For an upscale fine dining experience head over to Ziggie and Mad Dog's, Kiayo Grill or Chef Michaels. Sunsets are most well-known at Pierre's Morada Bay, or The Lorelei. Also home to a Publix supermarket, The Trading Post, several small clothing boutiques Miss Monroe or Wild Lily and the History of Diving Museum! Lower Matecumbe Key is the Southernmost Key within the Village of Islamorada located between mile markers 78-75. Here on "Lower Mat" it's all about sandy beaches, boating in turquoise waters, sunshine and having fun! Lower Matecumbe is home to some spectacular real estate in well sought after neighborhoods including Port Antigua, White Marlin Beach and Safety Harbor to name a few. You'll find excellent boating access via Channel 2 and Channel 5 bridge with a whopping 65' of vertical clearance.
